A Personal computer is a small machine that can be used by a single person putting on a desk.Now a days ,Personal computers are almost as familiar as television sets and music systems.
Note book computers are also called Laptop .They can be used even in traveling because they work with battery power.
Palmtops are so much small that they can fit into the palm of your hand.The latest palmtops can run spread sheet,database and word processing software.
Focusing on------
1-introduction to the parts of a computer.
2-using mouse.
3-how to select?
4-what is a pointer?
5-the keyboard and its all keys in use.
6-The monitor.
7-The printer.
This is a CPU [central Processing Unit],All the computation and processing works are performed in this unit only.In other words,You can say that the main computer is only the CPU.
This is a Monitor.It is known as Visual Display Unit [VDU]. Whatever you input or the computer generates output,is shown on this monitor's screen.
This is a Keyboard.The inputs which u want to give to the computer you will have to type in on this keyboard.
This device is called Mouse .It is an important and quick moving input device of the computer.Moving it very quickly you can select any option shown on the monitor.
The left button of your mouse is used to select the object.First, u place the pointer on that object which u want to select and then click the left push button on your mouse.
A symbol is called pointer that indicates the position where u r pointing out.
The Keyboard----
A keyboard is an essential input device used with the computer.It has 101 or more keys.
1-----numeric keys which r located in the second row from the top.
2-----Alphabetic keys which r 26 and placed in the next 3 lines after numeric keys.The Alphabetic keys can type both Capital and small letters.To change the typing from small to the capital or vice versa , the shift key can be used.
Press Caps lock and then type.This changes the mode permanently and pressing again , the mode can be reversed from capital to small letter.
3-----Functional keys - which r 12 in numbers.
4-----Directional keys r used to move the cursor on the screen.
5-----Special keys---
Shift keys works with the combination of other keys.when holding down it,type a key having
two characters ,the upper character appears.
COMBINATION OF KEYS

CONTROL KEY ----is used as a support key with other keys.This combination generates different functions with normal operations.For example if u are holding the [Ctrl] and press [C] the computer aborts from the current operation.
Alter keys-----also has the distinguish function like control key.
Caps lock----key changes the CAPITAL letter into small letter and small letter into CAPITAL letter.
Num Lock----key is used to activate the Numeric key Pad.When Num Lock is 'on' the numeric key pad is used to input the numbers.When this key is 'off',the numeric key pad can activate the cursor movement and other functions like Page up ,Page down,Home ,End etc.
Escape key----The general use of this is to abort from current operation and to go back to the last working operation.
Backspace key----deletes one character back to the cursor.
Insert key----is used to insert any string [set of characters] between the set of characters already typed on the page.
Delete key----deletes the character positioned just to the right side of the cursor.
Home key----moves the cursor to the top left corner of the screen.
End key----moves the cursor to the right corner of the bottom of screen.
Page Up key----scrolls the text of the screen one page upward.Thus the lower page appears on the screen.
Page down key----scroll the ext of the screen one page down.Hence the upper page appears on the screen.
Print Screen----when this key is pressed,he text on the screen goes to print on the paper by the use of the printer.
